can you tell me if theres a difference between these two engine!?

Im sure there must be some obvioud ones, but im not really well up on GTE or GSi models.

Reason being is i might wanna buy a GSi engine, and dont wanna be fobbed off with a GTE one. Because the GSi engine SHOULD have less miles on it and be in a better condition if it is younger. Providing it ent been thraped!

they are the same apart from the later gsi ones with cat and the even later ones with dis

16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

the early GSI's have the same engine as the GTE (bosch jetronic). The next GSi model had the Multec injection system, these also have a cat. The very latest GSi's had a distributor pack which doesnt require a seperate coil.

yep gsi haz more power if u think about it as it is restricted through the cat unlike the gte! plus early gtes didnt hav a octane plug or tec plug and gsi s induction kit is louder as it runs directly from the throtal bodie!
