rite guys and gals, this is my baby!

Its a 1988 nova, currently powered by an sr engine. Its a 1.4 lump, with gte cam, weber, k&n, 4 brancher, straight through stainless system, up rated ignition, rebuilt top end and a few other bits n bobs.

body work is pretty much standard, bar the gte front painted black. the rear bumper will be painted black, as will the mirrors, door handles and any other bits that i see fit!
I have a dimma fuel cap somewhere in the post, and also have some gte skirts which will be painted black before i fit them.

Suspension is limited to gmax shocks and springs and the brakes are standard 2.0 16v units off an astra GTE.

Interior wise i have the grey and blue sr seats, Kenwood CD player, 5.25" components in the doors and some 6" co avials on the back shelf. May put a sub in but i doubt it!

The wheels are astra wheels. They are no longer the ones seen in the pictures, but the same wheel painted in black. I am currently refurbing some cavvy gsi wheels which will be extreme gloss black!!!!

I want a euro lock, so smooth, subltle and no fibreglass stick ons is the way. Thinking about some german number plates?

i am also rebuilding a 1.8 8v engine as discussed in the engine and transmission forum, which i am also turbocharging. hoping for around 150-170bhp out of this!

so plans are:

Fit skirts and finish painting bits black!
Fix 1.4 manifold (got a little crack in the manifold)
Clean, clean and cleaan everything!
Paint under the arches
clean the brakes up
finish dressing the 1.4 up
finish the 1.8 turbo

thanks very much

i just want it to be as clean is it can!

i love the whole contrasting scheme, with bits of black breaking up the carmine red paint!!

i have been through the fibreglass phase with a corsa sri i had, and i don't like it half as much as i like this car!

can't wait to finish the engine!

what do you think about pressed german style plates?

i also need a set of gm mud flaps!

the last owner did that to the engine and he said its for the ignition, and the rev limiter!

ive only refurbed the carb, timed it up, cleaned it and re done the fueling system!

lol wouldnt mind knowing what its doin really , cool if its fitted a rev limiter but seems very odd when a 1.4sr dizzy would have been more then good enough

yeah, i really have no clue what its doing guna have to trace it now!

it definately has got a limiter though, hit it a few times, mainly when pulling away from traffic lights when killing saxos! lol

nah, only hit it once or twice!

do you know where i can get a clear dizzy from?

I noticed the GSi ECU and map sensor, wonder how that works.

is the map sensor the thing to the left of the ecu?

if so theres a tube going to the carburretor, and some wires going to the ecu

Probably doesn't :p

Tis a clean nova, should be good once he's finished tidying bits up.

right

finally the engine seems to be looking progressing

i bought a 18e engine, as found in the mk2 astra gte and the astra sri and various cavvys etc.

i know these turbo quite well, as courtney did the pace astra, so i am going to put a blower on mine and a few other bits

didnt know that they were the same engine as whats in the daewoo espero, and found one with a complete engine and gear box, genuine 64k with service record for ?50 delivered to my house.

just needed a wiring loom, and it finally appears that i have managed to source one!

the engines almost in bits now, just gotta take the bottom end to bits and dress the whole engine

i have someone ready to make a manifold for me, and then its a case of finding a nice cam, bigger injectors and fit megasquirt or something.

i will be uprating bolts etc, new bearings and the like.

hoping for about 170bhp of reliable power!
