is it dark smoke, smoke or white/condensation smoke? its smooking because its burning oil or the head's gone in which case waters mixing with the oil.
Or if you only do short trips it could be condensation. I used to get it a lot with mine.

no, its blue smoke, but when i take the oil ap off everything looks fine, water looks fine too
before i bought the car :
it had been sitting for a few months
then it went to the garage for a full re-spray
then it sat on the drive for another 2 months or so
then i got it and i've only done like 40 miles
so you think that could be the problem?

What's the mileage on it?

could be over fueling.
the breather unit could be clogged. it is a git to remove because it is between the manifold & starter motor. the engine probably needs a rebuild because it is about 20 years old.

More than likely to be valve stem oil seals, best to get it checked by someone who knows what they're doing

if ts been sat for the best part of six months, and you've only done 40 miles, i'd suggest put up with it for a few more miles and see if it clears itself out. if, say in a month it hasnt changed or improved, ge it looked at
also keep tabs on how much oil its using
