i dont have pics, but it lives in the back of my car. i got a hot bodies lightening 2 with a 26(huge) engine. i'd suggest ebay, and get a second hand cheapy to start off with, but there are new kits on there for about 100 - 120 quid (i think) and it also depends on where your gonna race it-cars wont go anywhere but smooth tarmac, monster trucks are top heavy, but buggies go anywhere.
Get a truck type one, much better than road nitro car.
Only get the road type if you have a massive perfect smooth tarmac surface use it on....
Build your own using a strimmer engine. Thats what i plan on doing when ive finished the nova lol

i've got a couple... a thunder tiget ts-4n 1/10th scale with a .12 racing engine and 2speed box, and that thing flies! i also have a rex-x bugger 1/5th scale, .21 engine, slightly slower than the ts-4n but as said it can just about go anywhere. i take it over the beach in swansea.
get on ebay! i picked up the rex-x for ?100 delivered and it was brand new with all the radio gear, and still needed running in lol ?300 new.
im after a petrol or electric car that will fit a kamtec or mardave nova bodyshelll over it, any ideas on what to get?

what scale is the bodyshell? i'd go for a thundertiger (car chassis) but you wont be able to take it many places

if you want a quick small leccy car, get a mardave v-12, really for indoor use,, but you can get nova body shells.
aha, i've resently purchased a thunder tiger SSK v2 for ?150, then just spent ummm at least ?50 of parts - i keep breaking it, it's funny lol
anyway it's 1/10th scale and i also have one of those wide-arched nova shells and it doesn't fit - by a long way it's like 1/12th or something even tho it was advertised as 1/10th.

it'll be for the 1/12th mardave cars! they're the only one si've ever seen... look good though all painted up. the 205 one is smart as well, looks like the t16
ive got my eye on this, as it looks really nice, not fussed about the nova shell

if u after petrol look out for names like 'carson, hpi, schumacher, traxxas' if you can avoid 'tamiya, kyosho', i have nothing against these but they are the basic starter kits tbh, if u want good quality it will cost u more obviously but will last you longer and will hadle being thrashed about, i got a traxxas tmaxx 3. engine, its mental, does wheelies thru 2nd gear, cost about ?400 when i bought it tho eeek!!! sooo much fun tho, faster than my nova, well off the line anyway lol
electric cars are very good as they are almost maintenence free, petrols need lots of maintanence, its up to you what u prefer tho tbh
i prefer electric, its plenty fast for me, how much is that pug 306 worth do you think?

its very nice car, err i would say around ?60-100 depending on what motor it has, its good condition, altho it doesnt have radio gear which can become expensive, mine cost me about ?120 so watch out for that one, u might be able to find a controller and receiver on ebay cheap anyway
cant i juist use a cheap controller?
or is this better value for money

yeh you can use any controller, jus look out for the frequenzy, they come in 2 versions, 40 mhz and 27 mhz, it dont matter which one but u must buy a 27mhz receiver if u have a 27mhz controller and vice versa
then u can change the exact freqeuncy by changing the crystals around in the controller and receiver, do u know about rc cars or is this all confusin to you ??

the mini is a smaller chassis aswell, and u get a controller, so its brillant value for ?30, i reckon its worth about ?60-70 for that, been ballraced which is a good thing, meaning it has metal bearings etc... that is expensive itself, its upto you what you prefer tbh
i think im gonna go for the mini, better value
how fast will it go approx? ?30mph?

i have a traxxas t-max. only used a gallon of fuel and ive had it for 3 years now!!
when i was 14-16 years old i went to a weekly meet and raced 1:10 electric cars round a indoor track.
spent every last penny on it,built it all myself. bought faster motors, better sus, battries etc.. was really fast then just lost interest when i started drving/mopeding.
my advive is dont get anything petrol. cost more, brake more and when things do go wrong itl cost alot more to fix.
decent electric cars can go just as fast, look better and stay cleaner.

i had a tc3 like this.
really well made, and quick. lots of tunning parts too...
Mr brothers got a super quick electric car, its got some mad motor fitted and does about 40mph, which for electric is very quick.
The only prob is batterys, a full battery lasts about 10mins,Lol.
Whereas nitro you can keep re-fueling to run all day.
I've had quite a few nitro 1/10th scales, my advise is dont buy one tbh, they get boring after a few go's........
I "had" a 1/10th nitro on roader... totally pointless in the UK imho. As where there was lost of smooooth tarmac, there was usually people OR it was a carpark that never really shut bar later sunday evenings.
I now have an HPI Savage, ok not my first choice as i dislike HPI's price fixing and general attitude to the people that use their products, but it was well specced and cheaper than an equiv Revo. Have to say its been ace, ive abused it so hard and not broken a single part (bar lunching the spur but these things happen).
I would have gone electric BUT the 10-15min runtime and then 7hour recharge put me off so the fuel way is just the best in that respect.
Plus you can learn a lot about tuning 2 stroke engines :)
I race a factory team xray in the dry and a factory team tc3 as my wet car. we also have a class for mini which i race in aswell.
Over the last few years ive taken part in the schumacer btcc which was a laugh and max bashing at guildford with my hyper 7 nitro 21turbo. My advice would be to go down the electric route untill you get use to how quick these things can go (if setup right) then move onto the nitro stuff.
Ive been racing for over 10 years now and the nitro 1 can still catch me out from time to time.
Have fun

Why is Lois in the background wearing what appears to be bondage gear? lol
if u want the nova shell go for the mardave v-12! cant fault it..but your not left with many options on where to use it..
as for nitro i started with a traxxas t-maxx when they were new..cost me about 500 quid but was well worth it..loved every minute!
since then though i sold it and have a few HPI savages..recently buying a limited edition which is like **** off a stick! also i rag the balls off them and varios terrains..mainly the local bmx track lol and it just keeps coming back for more..the only money i had to spend on it was a wheelie bar..to keep the ****er on its wheels lol!

my hot bodies ligtening was bought second hand (my mate cherished it, them bought a t-maxx with extended chassis etc) i batter mine everywhere, and only realised it wont steer straight the other day when i found a plastic suspension mount snapped, still driveable, and launch it off any drop i can find, it still keeps going. damned fast tho...
my tt-01 ... drift setup
its the future i tells ya.

I have an Team Associated RC10GT nitro truck.
Used to race indoor carpet and outdoor tarmac at the Stafford track.
Trust me these things can eat through as much cash as my Nova!!
