t40's if your prepared to spend that much

if not 4branch manifold with decent system for a little more bhp

Fit a C20XE instead.
Or some used twin 40's and a 285 duration cam with a setup at a good RR.

yes fit an c20xe because nitrous is not that good on small engines used to have it on my gsi and it kept poping the engine so i ended up selling and building one with a c20xe in and it's much more fun

weight reduction - put salt water on bare metal and rust it!

Nitrous is fine if you start with a good running engine and use sensible size nitrous/fuel jets.

Its not much good for road use tho, best for 1/4miles.

You'll effectively be replacing the injection system with the carburettors

As said, consider stripping as much excess weight as possible, and spend good money on the handling (tyres, suspension, strut bracing etc) and brakes. Won't necessarily make the top speed any higher, but will help you go faster round corners and allow you to brake a bit later

Engine wise I'd get a 4 branch to get a nice lump of extra torque which is more useful in everyday driving. IMO Twin 40s is the next best step, they're generally cheaper than headwork. Then get a rolling road tune for the timing and carbs.
