Anyone ever fitted a C16SE into a Corsa??

I have layed my hands on a GSi Nova which i will be breaking up (look out for a post - coming soon) and my Corsa SRi (C14SE) is in need of an engine and box.

What would be involved in putting the GSi's engine and box into the Corsa?

Nova - I noticed it has an AFM so will need to transfer loom over to Corsa?

Corsa - Its MPi already so saves a bit of aggro..

Any help would be greatly apprectiated.

straight swap, use loom ecu etc from nova

Ive never tackled an engine swap before but i do know enough to get by.

When you say ''loom' do you mean the full loom for the entire car or does it split for the engine?

Yeh, the engines a e16se if it has a afm.
You just need the engine loom.
The loom unplugs, you will just wire up a few wires to the car.

Is it really worth it tho? Power gain about 15bhp.....

Ahh right, slap it in then,Lol.
I have seen a e16 in a corsa, just join the wires in the drivers footwell where they go to the original ecu.

The old 130,000 mile lumps head gasket was away.

So much so that teh head had cracked in 5 places!

The bottom end was very rough too so time to ch-ch-ch-change!

What about exhaust?

C14SE has a single downpipe but im sure the E16SE has a twin??

Just fit the c14 manifold and downpipe.
So it fits the corsa system.

I had a thought today, wont the shafts used on an E16SE engine/box combo be the 22spline shafts??

Meaning il eitherhave to split CV's or change hubs etc etc??

Most gsi's dont have 22spline shafts.
All nova shafts fit ALL novas. The cv's are all the same.

On a corsa, just use the corsa shafts.
Will fit fine.

So, just to clarify, fit engine and box from nova into Corsa and use the Corsa's shafts?

And the final script on wiring ??

Ye, use the corsa engine mounts and driveshafts.
If you look behind the drivers footwell trim you should find the 6/7wires that are the same as on the e16 loom.
