my mate has a 1.4sr k reg his head gasket has gone any tips or help on how to replace it how long you think it will take thx

You might as well change cambelt/waterpump while your at it.
And the head may need skimming, depends if it overheated.

any thing to look out for any tricky bits done a redtop but that was easy

8v is a piece of pi** compared to xe.

I've done one in under 2 hours but I had a spare, freshly skimmed head to hand. Exhaust manifold nuts/studs/bolts are probably the worst bit as I allways find they've rusted out of size, make sure you have 1/2" and 12mm sockets ready to bash on if you need to.

i did my xe in about an hour or so really straight forward the same with the exhaust bolt on this

large tin of wd40 to hand, and get the head skimmed regardless (i learned the hard way)
