View Full Version : Leaking RHD Japan supplied Sard regulator on C20LET...

Well I fitted my Sard regulator to my LET Nova today, and when I turned the pump on to set the pressure the annodised blue fittings leak from the threads...

The fuel hoses are fine, only leaks from the body to blue annodised bits...

Am I right in thinking its plumbed in correctly (return and inlet in right places?)

I didnt have the engine running when I was setting it up - is this ok? Or is this why it leaked?

I set it to 3.7 bar, which is what I need for my Saab red injectors and Evo5 software according to Wallace guys.

It read fine on the gauge, and no leaks from that thread, just the other two blue fittings.

Suggestions anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Rob.

PTFE plumbing tape on the threads?

Not sure if its fitted correctly or not, but if its leaking thru the threads on the unions then id stick some Loctite (542) on them, should sort the job.

Yeh I'll try the PTFE tape, see if that does the job...

The Loctite would be better imo, thats what we use at work on the unions on the water inj pump, water / fuel regs and they run @ 7 bar !!
May as well give the PTFE a try tho.

Where did you get it from BTW, how much (if you don't mind me asking)

Ebay mate.

Search for RHD Japan in shops / users.

Came pretty quickly (from China / Japan)

Think it was about ?60 posted.

The Loctite sounds good, will give it a blast.

I used to work in a sensors company, I've seen PTFE tape seal things way over 7 bar :).

Nothing wrong with loctite either though, but I guessed you'd be more likely to have PTFE tape to hand.

Is it a proper Sard regulator?
I've heard a lot about cheap copies on ebay.....

Yeh I will use the PTFE tape first - as like you say - I have got some kicking about!

And yes it is a genuine Sard reg - not a copy.
