Please help me! i am painting my nova black and its going to be a gsi look alike.
i have asked a question like this before but i am still undecided and dont know what colour my car is.
I would quite happily paint my car this colour again (but what is the name of the colour or a code)??

I would like it to be like this and as shiny as this astra but i doubt it as its not going to be such a professional job as that.lol What colour/code is this?

i dont know. whats best?? I would like it the same as my nova is just now but i need a code/colour name for it?? Surely someone will know what it is?
You can find the colour code under the bonnet. Then use RazorJacks colour chart to find the name of it. I love the deep shiny black of new Vauxhalls
Bear in mind half the reason that the new Vauxhalls look nicer is because the paint hasn't been out in all weathers for 15 years as it has been on yours.
Try giving the car a good Megs session. My car has some very tired 12 year old paint, and still came up good:

Jack Did you use the 3stage cleaning process? i did it on my new nova sunday and i could see my face in it lol best polish ive used and its not hard work either, lad who had it before me swar on autoglym until i showd him some pics lol

wow that polish is good! will have to get some of that after i paint my nova.
That pic uses the 3 stage cut, polish and wax though. And a fair amount of elbow grease.
I now use a 5 product stage (clay bar, wash, cut, polish, wax). But if you want to be REALLY picky, try this
1. Rinse
2. Wash
3. Rinse
4. Chamois
5. Tyre treatment (i.e. tyre shine)
6. Clay bar
7. Rinse
8. Chamois
8a. Detail, if required, including bumper black and trim detailling
~ allow to dry properly, preferably undercover ~
9. Cut & Buff
10. Polish
11. Polish & Buff
12. Wax & Buff
13. Wax & Buff
...and do the wheels along with stage 1-4, and wax them at the end (oh yes, wheels need waxing too!). Don't use Wonder Wheels or cack like that as it eats wheels for a pastime. Remember - polish needs a cool car in the shade, and wipe it off before it dries; where as wax like a nice warm car in the sun, and leave it to set for a while before buffing. For faded paint, use two coats of polish, really work the first layer in, then apply a second coat, then buff off. I should make a thread on this lol
a tad expensive tho my friend i went on to the website with ?100 in my bank and left the site with an empty bank account lmao
Incidentally, TCut and Autoglym get their results by cutting a layer of paint off. Megs cut takes a miniscule layer of paint off, so is ideal for use on older cars such as Novas.

Its not that bad, I bought ?60 worth of gear in a local shop. 8 months later and i've used less than 1/4 of each thing (not including clay bar).
Tescos are the place to get the microfibre cloths, and decent chamois' can be had down most markets dirt cheap. I do recommend the Megs applicator pads though (the furry ones, not the foam ones).

The astra H is black saphire, 2hu, Nice colour, if your planning to paint it your self, stop there, Ive been doing a paint course at college 2 nights a week as an evening class. Getting the right ffinish on a lighter colour is far easier than a dark colour, a black metalic is a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!
