As rdanny says, execpt ditch the air filter for bigger brakes and make sure the wheels you get are nice and light. Once the chassis stops and corners well, you could think about a 4 branch, cam and webber 32/34 carb.

its a 2 door saloon and its droped on spax kriptonite coilovers brakes are std bt there ok im running the gte alloys

1.4 has same carb as 1.3. Assuming the 1.3 is later than 1985.

really?? i never knew that lol thats the only thing i could think of for bits of a 1.4, unless the manifolds are different?

The whole engine is similar, same exhaust,carb etc.
The head/inlet is different, and obviously the bottom end.

id love to put an xe in it but i aint got the time ive got my self a running 1.4sr and my lil 1.0 timeing chain has died lol so i cant be botherd with mechanics no more so im getting someone els to do my work for my and they wanted 70 for the chain and the seal thats gone i got a whole 1.3sr for 100! so is there nothing i can do realy to make these things quicker whilst the engine is out? 1.6 cam 1.4 cam? 1.4 head or somthing like that?

From seeing the difference on my mates astra aswell as what I read on here, yes. A more agressive cam like a 270 would be better though.

the 1400 sr cam is the most lairy standard nova cam at like 255, 270's are ok piper, kent, but if youre going to tune the engine even more then save your self ssome time and hassle and go for a ast2 or 285 piper cam.

If you want to get the most possible out of the engine, u will also need a vernier pulley so you can get the timing spot on.
