the 1.4 wont fit on the 1 litre box, it bolts on the otherway, also it would affect fuel consumptoin

your brother used a 1200 4 speed gearbox on a 1600 and it went on??

a 1.2 box would bolt straight onto a 1.4 engine,

i would go for a 5 speed you just cant relax on the motorway with a 4 speed drives you mad after a while

^^^ why if you look it up the 4th gear in a 4 spped box is the exact same cog as 5th gear in a 5 speed box

well i thought the 4th gear was more faster/responsive and louder when i drove for a while on the motorway, but id never have another 4 speed box for road use, ever

Yup, on my old 4spd box the engine revs were lower on the motorway in 4th than on my current 5spd box in 5th,Lol.
