Cav selector mod

I want to put a cav gear selector on the nova due to clearance issues with the exhaust and the nova setup. Has anyone got some info and some pics of the mod !?!

Yup.

First you need to mod the cav selector by shortening it by 3 inches (obviously you need the end piece so you need to chop a piece out of the middle), and removing the bends out of it.

The hole you need to chop out of the tunnel starts 80mm from the top seam, and is 80mm long, by 40mm wide.

Easy peasy really

What about the engine bay side of things ? Thought the bulkhead was double skined there aswell.

Had a good look today, what you say makes perfect sence now. Did you chop the metal work away from the old nova type setup.

Seen in this pic, just delow the gaiter.

Yup that metal has to go as well as the big metal piece in front of it(The bit that goes to the front). Then weld up the big hole for the current gear stick.

You are joking ! The big bit in front of that has now been stich welded ! must be away round it tho !?!?!?!

The bit that you've seem welded (carpet centre support) is gonna have to come off !!

You are joking ! The big bit in front of that has now been stich welded ! must be away round it tho !?!?!?!

Not really, if you left it in then you'd have to chop a 1" up the middle for the rod to pass thru, then you'd have to try and get a hole thru in the panel underneath, looks like your gonna have get them welds ground off !!

The measurements given are from the Competition Build Manual, i had to make mine slightly longer, think it depends where the lever is mounted, its a good starting point tho.

It just clamps up like the normal one.

The rod off the Cav lever ends up in the same place as the std Nova one, so as he ^^^ says, just clamps up as normal.
