btrda wyedean stages (40 pics)

Yup its that time of year again where a few other novaloaders pop over to my place and i take them out for a days rallying around my local area. Obviously we had horrific snow on friday, some had melted from the nights rain but left more than enough to give the day abit of a proper winter rally feel. (and prob the last snow rally around here for a long time)

First thing we noticed was that a snow plough had been through to shift the bulk of the snow to make it abit safer (not alot). Once the first few had tip toed around the stage we were on, the others slowly picked up the pace and then the bigger cars put on a better show

We did intend to see 2 full stages, but alas near the end of our stage (ss3) there was a big off and from initial reports the first to be told of it were the next of kin so my heart goes out to those foremost. This put our second stage cancelled and to get to see another would of been nigh on impossible (plus it was raining steady again). The day was full of carnage throughout all 8 stages and alot of machinery
was damaged

lol Looks like im following you around the forums 'Dan'. Posting my little bit :thumb:

I was marshalling today and it was very sad news when we heard about the incident on SS3 and my heart also goes out the the family. We had no major accidents on our part of the stage, just a few wobbly entries and exits. I didn't take any photos because I was busy with other things. But before our stage started I took a few piccys.

After our stage closed we wizzed over to SS7(Chepstow Park) but where not there on time to get in position. So we watched the stage until Andy Burton hit a tree.

Such a shame. The co driver had to be taken off of the stage in an ambalance, so I hope he has a speedy recovery. Lots of cars on their roofs today so it was carnage. Since it was the only time I had seen the 306 stationary I took the opportunity to take a few more piccys.

Thanks dan as usual was an excellent hostess with the mostess.

At first we were a bit sceptical about the reports of a death on the rally but unfortunately the worst fears of everyone were proven true which made the mood somewhat sombre as we trudged out from what had been for us excellent sport until that point. As dan says our thoughts go out to those left to pick up the pieces from the tragedy.

Bugger! I was hoping that it was ok because it was towed out with what looked like no problems. Oh well im sure he will just bring out a faster car next time.

I thought I heard it was his lads first rally as well. I bet his wife will have something to say. I do hope he has a speedy recovery and that he gets back in the car with his dad again.

Yeah, i heard about it on the local news, he lost his 205gti, and unfourtunately his life too, his co driver was un-injured.
The guy was from round my area.

Looked a good event, shame it was shadowed by the big accident.
