Just bought a 1.3SR nova, has twin 40's, piper cam, vernier pulley to name but a few mods. I drove it 315 miles back from down south and now its making a tapping noise on idle. I don't think it was there before. Its non existant when its running but can still be heard on low revs sometimes. Any help would be great cheers!!
PS - The engine had a rebuild 7000 miles ago so was like new.

I haven't checked it yet but I assume there should be loads in it, if the oils fine any ideas what it could be, or how much im looking at?

depends where its coming from, could be lifters (been there, done that) if its got a cam in it, the lifters should have been changed to suit i would imagine
and never assume thers oil in it, its a vauxhall!

Right well oil check first thing tomorrow morning then. The heater isn't workin too but I'll flush the system out cos I think that might be problem there. Are lifters a big job/expensive to do with a new cam in the engine?

if you can get the tools, you can remove the cam without stripping the engine too far. the lifters, i coulndt tell you, like i said, they should be uprated, so might/will cost more.
