As for heat of the moment, how do you painstakingly prepare a letter bomb, and post it, in the "heat of the moment" ... heat of the moment would apply if someone punched a traffic warden or something, but not this.

at least suicide bombers have the nuts to do it in person. Though i suppose sticking a bomb in the post makes it pretty difficult to change your mind, then you get days or even weeks of regret as you wait for the postal service to pull their finger out - and if you never see anything on the news you dont know if it arrived and didnt explode or if you're at the mercy of H.M. Royal Mail.
