i have a 1.3 sr a it has a cork rocker gasket on and i am in need of changing it. I have been told that you can get rubber ones that will fit on. will this be ok as i am not mechaniacal minded

Yeah you can.
But the cork ones are better.

sorry to hi-jack this thread but i need to change my rocker cover gasket aswell. I also need a exhaust outlet gasket. How much are these to buy?
there only a couple of quid each mate

cork are better? mine leaked after a week, making a mess all over the lovely polished rocker cover and matt black head! i'm just using gasket sealer next time!
Ye cork are better.
As the rubber ones tend to just move about and leak.
cork + RTV. Id never use RTV on its own, nor cork on its own...
lol i use cork on its own and its crap lol, whats this rtv stuart? am off to buy some this week lol
RTV is the "technical" term for automotive grade silicone.

i will buy a cork gasket and use plenty of my dads rtv sealer!lol

My cork one has been on for about a year now and is fine still !
