rub strips removal??

i have some rub strips on my nova 1.2 and wanting to get rid so whats the best way to remove them and the gluey stuff underneath??? also i want to smoothen off the body that has got that rough surface below the rub strips whats the best way to go about doing this?? bring on the help lads

Heatgun and peeling/rubbing with meths (or similar) can remove the glue.

Plastic scraper will come in handy as well. Be patient as it takes a bit of effort to do properly!
