Don't know about t40's on 1600's, but I've got a 1400sr with same dizzy setup and mine didn't have a limiter.

I would recommend an Omex one, I found a cheap new one on ebay so keep a look out.

No the 1.4Sr dizzy/coil has no limiter function.
If it will keep going.

Armtech/Omex sell limiters that just interrupt the coil supply.

Or the cheaper way is just dont go off the rev counter,Lol.

def no limiter on the 1.4sr dizzy, mine ran fine all the way to 8500rpm, the valves didn't agree though, lol

Was that 8500rpm on ARP rod bolts?

Any opinions on a safe max rpm for a std 14nv bottom end?

Sorry to semi hi-jack the thread, Lol.

i was going to go for the omex speed system as this comes with steady rev limiter and shift light to be mounted above the dials. rally design is the cheapest place i've found @ ?75 most other places bout ?100.

My engine has just been rebuilt kent cam, springs and arp bolts but wasn't planing on reving it anywhere near that. Its's getting run in and set up on the rollers. after some power runs i'm gana set the limiter and shift light acordingley.

My 1400SR would regularly go off the clock on the digi-dash (7K IIRC??)

Never had any bother with it.

Although a limiter would have been nice for piece of mind....

yeah not 8500 my sr used to rev to that, well its hard to tell but right off the clock. and that done 20k and now it is in desperate need of a rebuild.

nova rev counters are horrendously inaccurate (almost as bad as the speedos)...

for a non fettled bottom end a reliable 7750 is the upper limit imho, and for a fettled one (peend rods and arps etc, then 8 and a bit K is okish)
