As above.
I still have the firewall in place and need a set of filters.
Current trumpets fitted are 38mm.

Whats the biggest depth of filter that will fit? K&N type ones.

Also, do the filters sit over the trumpets or do the filters bolt on the bare carb?

They fit over the trumpets.

Why not fit trumpet socks so you know they'll fit? :)

as said in the other post (but was lazy with the pics), just get 16mm trumpets, the minimum prefered distance from face of trumpet to face of filter is about 14mm.

here's the pics of my 50mm filter which was a nice fit on my old gte shell and tbh the prefered one in my opinion when the bulkhead remains (if you look close enough the measured pic shows just over 30mm to inside face which is just right in cramped spaces)....

Beyond that with the bulkhead removed a 90mm filter just fits in like on my shell now......

Dont be under any illusion that the 'bigger' trumpets will offer you anything (torque/power and that crap). For what we do they dont, i myself like many others have lost nothing by fitting 16mm ones. Well thats a lie, it made life so much easier we lost all of the messing around lol.

If i thought any gains would of been worth it i would of changed mine in the last 7yrs of running them for such a small outlay.

Cheers Dan.

Any opinions on why Trumpet Socks are not recommended?
