back in november a single decker bus hit my rear quarter panel and now theyve admited it was the drivers fault i need a quote for a new panel.
one garage told me 1600 = right off
how much do you think it should cost?
would it be cheaper if i got the panel myself?
- fi so - has anyone got a rear quarter panel (passenger)?
The panel is cheap to buy.
Labour/Spraying isn't
I think about ?250/?300 per side is the norm.
as it was their fault, the price/value is immaterial. get a quote from the main dealer, and from a leading independant bodyshop (one that somebody recommended to you)
^^ agreed, and see if you can swing it to a full respray

i thought that if the repair would cost more then what the car was worth then they'd write it off.
i paid ?500 for it but i doubt the insurance company will value it the same.
Insurance companies take a book value figure, unless its an agreed valuation policy.
but bus companies dont have insurance companies, they have public liability insurance and if an accident occours they argue it themselves, if there wrong they pay up - or at least that is/was the case round here

yes they'll prob write it off mine was written off after a minor front ende. Ii bought for 1050 8 days before. the guy came round and saw that it WAS mint and they gave me 1050 for it minus my 50 excess and i bought it back of them for 50 so i got 950 and the car never left the drive!
