Just wondering if anyone with mudflaps on there novas have fitted them at the rear? As there is only down the edge of the bumper to fasten them onto, so surely across the width of it will not be secured.
If anyone has any pics of how they fitted theres front and rear then that would be appreciated.
Just wanted to see how others have done theres. No worries if knowone can help as its not exactly a hard job!
Cheers. Ian
I have them on front and rear.
The clamp bar just clamps onto the edge of the rear bumper.
And the front one clamps onto the lip of the wing.

i fitted sparco ones to my rally nova, made up a metal strip with holes and rivetted the flap to the inner wing across the bottom and at the top. on my old rally nova, i bolted them to the rear bumper with a strip of metal again, worked fine.

OE mudflaps are plenty stiff enough when mounted just by the 2 screws.

Thanks. The mud flaps I have got are off Ebay, dealersport ones but there just a copy and pretty much universal fit I think and just came with screws. I didnt just want to start making holes everywhere when there would be a better way of doing it, hence why I asked to see how others have done theres.

Why nut cut some alloy (or steel) braces for them which you can taylor to the shape & available space on your car, spray it black & mount the flaps to it, then mount the brace to the car....?

Yea think something like that will have to be done.
Cheers.

i got them dealer ones off ebay. just screw some self tappers through the mudflaps and through lip on bumper..
I had some of those and I used the metal u clips that you bolt on to the bumper/flap - however whilst driving round ireland one of them came off on the feckin motorway!
If I was gonna fit flaps on the rears again I'd rprobably drill hole through flap/bumper edge and bolt on with 2 washers either side. If you rivet just make sure you put a washer each side so the rivet dont pop out the hole.

i did have a funny experience in the my nova with sparco flaps fitted to the rear, i made them low, the used to scrape etc... but when reversing up a kerb one day the mudflap got stuck between the tyre and the kerb, ripped the fecker off the bumper... lol
all fun and games, it's how we learn :)

i did feel like a tit! luckily it didnt pull the bumper off :)
I've seen a few sets on ebay.de that are designed to fit the rear of a Mk1 saloon. Shaped to fit round the thin bumper and down round the rear valance. I'm not sure if they're OEM, but they appear to be designed specifically, and one of the sellers listing them had a whole load of other OEM Opel stuff for sale as well. Might have to make a purchase and see how well they fit...
