I'm considering buying a 2litre nova, but I'm not entirely sure what I should keen an eye open for.

1) rust on arches
2) rust on 4 suspension struts
3) strengthening kit? - is this essential?
4) seam welded engine bay
5) uprated brakes & suspension
6) worn tappets
7) porous head - how can I check for this?

what have a missed? please list anything you can think of :thumb:

Maybe a guide should be made for "buying a nova" that pinpoints all the weak spots?

1/2) standard nova checks, rust anywhere remotely structural (chassi legs, but especially front slam pannel)
3) NO, but some gheyers will say it is....
4)stitch welded bay is "vital", again check the front pannel
5)its a must. 256mm brakes minimum. and decent shocks/springs (not a gmax kit)
6) meh they cost pennies to change
7) meh costs not a lot to have a "porous" (its actually a crak as opposed to porous) head fixed.

Look for dodgy wiring on the conversion.
