my 1.2 engined nova has now got a knocking bottom end and i have a complete 1.6 engined mk3 g reg cavalier with rear crash damage i was wondering how easy it would be to put this engine in the nova ,what mounts should i use and would the nova gearbox fit to the cav engine?

If thats the 1600 16SV carb fed engine then it will drop straight in. I believe this is a conversion which has been done by Lucky Luke (Luke - sorry if I got that one wrong mate!)

Check this link out Tookie for further 16SV related articles

i really really really wouldnt bother with the 16SV engine. its such a poor one to convert to.... Id get hold of a 1.6mpi engine as they are cheap, easy to wire up (before anyone pansys about that bit lol) and far far far better for power/driveabilit/fuel consumption etc etc.

do the sv and the mpi engines not have the same bottom end?
the cav engine is a good reliable engine its never gone wrong and its had a few mild mods would i be right in thinking that any ohc engine mounts from a nova would fit to the cav engine?

Yeah they have the same bottom ends.

Ye the nova mounts fit, it will bolt straight in.
