eh but the new small back hasn't been out more than a few months and it will be ?? if u can find one and you never get big power from new engines anymore
u better off with an all alloy 2.0 16v with tbs nice and light

My mate has one, mind u, he does work for Gm, so there u go.

He has got big bhp, and it beats the crap out of the 2L 16v corsa that knocks around!

2x schrick cams, chip, zorst, filter, and a few "secret" mods, wot he wont tell.

It is fast, i know this, it sounds fookin ace aswell.

If u got the cash, get one!

If not, i recon 1600 16v, or like Ste says, 2L, u want power, go for the 2L.

1.8 ecotec prob slower than a 1.6 gte engine, ecotec engines are crap and restrictive. need loads of mods to get decent power.

Guys, I have already have a 1.8 16v SV engine in my Nova, quite easy to fit, same drive shafts and mounts and runs 130bhp standard. The engine is very new only been out since 1999 and is costing me an arm and a leg. I.ve just gotta say the electrics were a nightmare and there are a few little mods that need to be done to get it in a Nova. I just need to get my custom exhaust fitted then I'll show you guys some pics!

P.S. the engine has massive tuning potential and will kick GTE ass!

all alloy 2.2 16v with tbs 300bhp+ now that kicks ass and it's light too

ste the big block 1.8 will still go in ?
whould u need to strenghen? the bay

Anonymous

I would, i have heard Mickys stories of the big block 1600 he had, and that ripped his car apart, because it was a big block, he had to have new shafts fabricated, and courtney didnt know what to do, they hadnt done owt like that before.

i recon every nova shud have the engine bay strengthened, its worth it at the end of the day, i need mine welded up, its started to crack, not because of big power, but because of the hard suspension and shit roads.

I am getting it all welded up, with box sections on the inner arches.

HTH

Mark_d I agree about the strenghening but isnt it big money???

Hmmmm, its a mate of mine who is doing it, but at the end of the day, if u lower & stifen it, like mine, its bound to go, so its prob best to get it done before it does.

When i say strengthening, i dont mean you have to pay all the cash for the soooper dooper seam welding amazing weld in metal plate thingies, i jus mean, add some box section to the inner arches, re-weld up the weak points & make sure everythiing is properly undersealed.

yeah iam gonna get the kit from nova tec and weld it myself its only 73 quid and u can fuck off if u think iam gonna get it from courtney who ask 141 quid for the same metal same sizes to lol

Why not, when u get the plates, cut some more to the same shape & sell em on?

Easy money!
