can sumone tell me which colour wire is as my dad is havin bother fittin his kenwood radio into his astra mk3

best thing to do is get the multi meter out, that will set you straight

on my old astra brown was earth black was switched live and red was permanent live but it may be differant depending on year etc

Black is switched, Red is perm on all vaux's afaik.
