1.6 8v, Its got R1 carbs on it, but am unsure the engine number, am think its >93 cause its not in the usual place,

"Where do I find the engine code?
The engine code shall be stamped below the cylinder head (up to 1993), usually on a small flat surface. But after 1993 the location moved to the edge of the cylinder block, transmission side." info from TopBuzz

Is that wheres bin indicated on ma pic?

See what number is stamped on the head, that will identify the head.
Its stamped by numbers 3/4 exhaust ports iirc.

If its a "16" head, then going by the rocker cover, cam housing and crank sensor bottom pulley it will be a C16SE.

Well its a 16 head, but i was told it was a Nova GSI engine, but couldnt find the engine number.

ill try again, this time can you please try and READ what i say here.....

The block maywell have been "decked" (that means skimmed) to increase the compression ratio/fix a warping. This will result in the engine number that is stamped into the top of the block to be removed due to machining.....

Somewhere on the block there should be a 14 or 16 cast into the side? there is on my 1300 and 1400.

Pretty sure my 1400 block has 14 on the back of it too.

I dont think all of them do tho for some reason.

Its 100% not a C16se as they have a DIS pack not a distributor

I'd say its an E16SE

A dizzy's been fitted so it can run carbs.

It doesn't really matter anyway, c and e16se's share 95% of parts.
