just drove my nova for the first time and its eva so lumpy from tickover to pulling off any one got any clues

sounds like it could be a air leek have a look at all the small pipes coming off the inlet manifold....
look at plugs, leads, dizy cap, rotor arm...
hope you find it

Ye, check things like plugs/leads.
Also try getting the idle CO set, using the screw on the afm.
