Was your mk1 fitted with a single piece back cushion?

Are you putting SR/GSi type seats into a non SR (poverty) model. Is it back seats etc.
We need details.

Where are you based mate? Im sure there are members local to you who could help you! Possibly put pictures of the two seats subframes up?

Still havent told us if the new seats are going into a non SR/sporty model.
I will assume they are...
You need to engage the inner seat runner (nearest tunnel) on the floor rail & then lift the handle under the seat, whilst doing this slide the seat forwards & it should slide onto the outer rail & continue sliding it forward until the front clamp lines up with the bolt holes in the floor pan.
theres a bit of a knack to it, but its easy. having someone help may benefit as the seats arent light.

i did say what they were out of and going in!
i managed to get the merit seat back in easy enough! like you say, probably just a nack! they are slightly different though!
and i notice the clamps that actually bolt the seat down are slightly different, but they line up!
what a ballache!

The subframe on a gypsy fr seat is totally different to the ones on an SR seat.

I had the same problem (http://www.novaload.net/forum/showthread.php?t=70467), turns out you just slide the back end of the seat under the bits on the car until its all the way forward, then the front drops into the right place to bolt the subframe down.

I dont see why. Ive had SR brown check seats in my 1st B reg 1.2L, Then I put rainbow trim SR seats in my 1.2 Luxe++ & now those same SR seats are in my sTD.
Ask Twag, when I bought the TD I put the SR drivers seat in on his driveway. LOL

Your TD didnt look like that at Cheltenham lol.
I know I'm gonna need to fix the centre brackets in for the rear bench as Aspirin's seats were a solid bench... not split 60/40
I may put them in at Cheltenham lol

I chiselled the rear mounts out of the Luxe last night. the lower (centre) ones are so over engineered & far too strongly welded in. I lost my chisel for a while. But the central back rest one came out easily. Opposite of what I expected. I'm gonna try to JB weld em in, save getting the MIG out. LOL
