im after more speed for my sr nova its a 1400 i was just going to go for a complete engine change but i just want to try tune the 1400 first i was wondering if anyone has got modified head and ias there a big differance :thumb:

Take it it's a carb model? If so a 1300 head and inlet manifold is a good start, as it flows so much better than the 1400 carb design.

yeh use the 13sr head ...if ya cant find one get a 1200 head from the scrappies ...the difference is really noticeable ...makes the car much more responsive..also try overhauling the carb ....over the years they collect some ****e in the float chamber etc ....hidden power in a dirty carb!

When you say speed is it top end you want or acceleration? Head work will only marginly increase acceleration?

^ agreed, gearbox mods would do more than headwork (if they were done on their own that is)

also paying to have a 1400 carb head ported is a total waste of money, the 1.4 mpi head is FAR FAR superior and costs a shed load less lol but then you have to mince about with inlets etc.
