hi all,
i'm thinking of selling the GTE already and gettign a opel manta GTE :thumb: always liked them, and i've seen one i like the look of. i've always got my scraped GTE at home if i ever wanted to transplant the engine into a 1.2 etc.
anyway...
1989 G-reg, mk1 flame red nova GTE
"32k miles" no proof
mot - sep
tax - end of feb
new bits:
water pump
cam belt
oil change
oil filter
front discs
front pads
brake fluid
gearbox oil
stripped and cleaned rear drums and adjusted hand brake.
full 4 wheel alignment.
cut and rolled rear arches
toad cat1 alarm and immobiliser
central locking
electric windows
astra GTE alloys and yokohama a509 and a510 tyres in pairs
jamex front struts and 40mm lowering springs all round
the car supposidely has a lightened and balanced flywheel, not proof, does rev easilly.
bad points:
gearbox whine, bearings are going i belive. it's a shame as has no problems with the synchro.
very small bit of rust on drivers front wing
slight bit of rust to lip of drivers side rear arch, where its been rolled.
has had two patches of welding under the bonnet which have been rust treated.
patches of welding to boot floor corners and rear panel
front and rear bumpers need respraying, althought theres red GTE bumpers on ebay this week, i was going to buy these and swap over.
usual wear to drivers bolster
dent to roof near sunroof, paint is fine.
i have waxoyled all the arches front and rear with 3 coats
bootlid has some rust and the spoiler paint is flaking, but have a mint boot lid off my old GTE, but again spoiler needs a lick of paint.
currently the car is fitted with a grp a manifold and 2 box system, this will be replaced with a standard manifold and a brand new standard centre section a back box.
i know the bad points seem bad, but i'm trying to be honest, if i sell then i need shot of asap, no one coming round and saying this was described etc.
te car is very quick, and everything works perfectly.
