Hi, try checking out this site, might help you with your concern, http://www.oneshopinsurance.com I was amazed with the premiums I was quoted on. The entire quote was automated, simple questions and straight forward answers.

They quote me just upwards of ?1000 for a 1.6 transplanted Nova. I'm 19 with 2 years NCB. So probs about right.

Burgo, aye I'd say thats about right. They quoted me something over ?1k for an XE on a normal policy, and I'm 24 with 7 years NCB lol

If you can put up with limited mileage, try a classic policy

I did a quote with HIC for a XE GTE with everything declared, cage, seat, wheels etc etc even the Englemann's, and FC it was about 700quid - bargain i thought! But i'm 25, so cheap(er) insurance :)

Burgo, I've been onto adrain flux and got a quote for a 1985 xe nova with coilovers, ss exhaust, and uprated brakes, (thats it) and got quoted 580 quid, which i thought was a bit steep Lol (i'm 30 with ncb etc etc)
i told the guy that i wasn't interested and was off to get a quote from hic, he replied
" you won't get a cheaper quote from hic, because we bought them out in 2005, they still trade as hic, so if you get a cheaper quote you haven't told them the same as you have told us"!!!

Still gonna get the quote anyway!........

quick update ive finally got it insured and they decided to class it as a gsi but put a note on the system sayin it wernt but i am allowed to put the bumpers on and interior in with it making no differenc to the premium :) oh and the premium is ?750 tpft which i think is pretty damn good
