Oil, filter, airfilter, exhaust, 4 branch manifold, plugs, leads, rotor arm, distribitor cap.
You can get that lot for pretty cheap
Dave
If you keep your eyes open for a cheap manifold, you'll be able to get the afore mentioned parts for ?300 easy
Failing that, send me your money and i will gladly spend it for you :D

Also look for a cheap badly advertised weber 32 34 off ebay I bought one for 20 quid off there not too long ago and sold it for 60 the next week.
I think I paid 70 quid for a janspeed 4 branch too. The bargains are there you just have to look for them.

fully service it & get it set up, & spend the change on super-unleaded fuel.

try a different head on it and an uprated cam aswell maybe, apparently the 1.4 sr head is poo!
im building up a 1400 sr too. im going to fir the sri head, race cam and pully, weber 38 dgas and a 4-1 with stainless system.
also im going to be rebuilding the bottom end.
wont be until ive got cash tho lol
spend the change on super-unleaded fuel.
Not much point in a 1.4 nova tbh
1.3SR head-?20
1.3SR inlet-?15
Headgasket set-?25
Weber 32/34 carb-?50
K&N for the weber-about ?30
4-1 manifold-?50 ish(second hand)
Full exhaust system(about ?70 second hand)
Oil and filter change-?10
HT leads-?20
Plugs-?5 (std ngk's)
Dizzy cap and rotor-?10
=About ?300. Should be a nice engine.
If you find any more cash go for an aftermarket cam.

Don't forget that if your happy to sacrifice comfort then you can go for a modification that will cost you nothing at all.
Stripping... and no I don't mean removing your clothes and parading down the street in the buff.
Even just removing the rear seats and panels will give you a good weight saving.

I would fit a flowed or big valve head. Once fitted you can add manifolds & carbs etc more easily as & when funds arrive.
I had a 1400 Sr dyno'd at 94bhp with a Jetex centre section, Weber 32/34 & K&N. Simple mods. No need for special plug leads or expensive plugs. Just good servicing & well setup.
