iv'e got a c16xe engine waiting to go in my nova, and i was just wondering can i run the multi groove alternator belt or do i have to change the pulleys and run the single groove V belt?

thanks phil:thumb:

Use the single V, much more room then....

It will rub the chassis leg iirc.

the multi groove belt is too long if you are not going to be using powersteering, just use the v belt and an 8v bracket

Its not too long, cos you can just buy a shorter belt! lol

The problem is that both top and maybe bottom pullies will foul teh shell.

what engine will the single v style pulley have to come off to fit my c16xe?

thanks phil

most 8v vauxhall engines without powersteering etc use it i think, i took mine off my 1.4 sri engine

multi v off a tigra fits my 1.4 xenova fine without fouling the chassis leg, but as long live points out elsewhere, i do have urethane mounts!

You will need a late (dis) Gsi or SRI bottom pulley, cos they have the teeth on them for the crank sensor.

You will need to run the sri late gsi altnater so the belt runs right.

my x16xe ran fine with a multi belt on, did not even have to cut the leg away/dent it to fit it, just fitted a shorter belt and done!
