Looking through my trusty Haynes manual and im still none the wiser as to how to get this ****ing thing off..

Totally bamboozled

Heres a pic to show you what i mean....

(its on a Corsa SRi 8v but should be pretty similar...)

what are you wanting to do? get the linkage complete off the car? If so theer is a big pin that goes down though the white bush in the centre of it ( looking at pic above), a smaller pin on the to the gear box side and teh it will be bolted on the gear stick lever with a 13/14mm bolt.

If it's anything like a nove you need to take the gearbox mount off first, bit of a squeeze.
Then gently prise apart the spring clip on top of the pin, then gently tap the pin out.

you dont need to take the gear box mount off any vauxhall to get the gear linkage off. Even if its jammed in you can tap it form underneath

Did one last week, couldn't get a clean shot at the pin.
Took the mount off and the pin was siezed in, only extra 10 mins work, and no skint nuckles
