1.2 to 1.6i

I have spotted a GTE engine for sale locally,at a decent price,prvoiding its ok,what else do I need to fit it?-could I run int on my 4 speed box temp for now?-I heard I would need to change the tank on it,what else?-engine mounts?,driveshafts?-manifold etc?-obviously brakes,anti roll bars and suspension would need to be sorted,could I fit the engine myself?-I can get a hoist and some technical help

I dont think u can run the 1.6i off of a 4spd the engine from my sport was changed to a 2.0 then to a 1.6i
u need to change the exhaust system brakes suspension strengthen the body (Dont have to)
and you need to cjhange the driveshafts clocks everything ive heard its easyier to put the engine in under the car as apose to dropp[ing it in know what i mean?

I know what you mean,so if I got it,I would need the manifold and system,petrol tank,and to uprate almost everything?-hmmmm,U may get the engine,and overhaul it while I collect the rest of thie bits,if the lad gets back to me x-(

You need the bigger gearbox cause the clutch is bigger, the tank (and fuel lines) need swapping because of the swirl pot (although you can carb the 1.6) GTE driveshafts will be heavier duty than yours, as far as the anti-roll bar goes, if you`ve got it fit it; if not it`s not deadly important.

they are on my 2.0 16v

I have just fitted the SR dash into my Nova
but i cant get the rev-counter working?
If anyone knows how to do this I`ll be greatfull for there advice.

U HAVE TO WIRE IT TO THE COIL TO GET THE REV COUNTER WORKING MATE!

why does every1 think you need to change the tank the only different tanks are on 5dr and saloons would cost vauxhall too much in the first place other wise(don't beleave me ask courtney tunong!!! Well said ste
