My side skirts just arrived about 10 minutes ago and want to get them fitted as soon as poss so gonna ask for a little advice even though they seem to be simple enough to put on.

I've noticed that they requite clips to be fitted down the side of the sill, is this nessacery or would it be alright just to screw them in underneath or would they bend back, buckle and drop off?

Also, as I would prefer to get the clips to hold them on when buying the new ones do you get any sort of positioning diagram with them to make sure you rivet them in the right place or would anybody be able to make me up some kind of measurements to get them in the right places and also what length rivets will I need and how many clips? I think theres 6 clips per side but I only really glanced at them for a few seconds.

Oh.... and before I forget, another little question, for the screws to hold them on underneath, are there the holes for the screws to go through under the car for the skirts like there are on the corsa-b on all models?

TopBuzz site has a good guide.
The clips are held on with rivets.

Vauxhall still sell the clips and rivets.

An adhesive like TigerSeal is strong enough to hold them on, i would just get some clips fit them to the skirts, then tigerseal on the back of the clips, press them on the car.

And then put a few self tappers underneath/at the ends.

Try topbuzz for a guide.

When I did mine i fitted all clips to the skirts and a little blob of wet paint on each clip. Held it on for a few secs... then you can line up the blobs with the clips and away you go.

Edit: Damnit.. the 2006 Novaload award winner for Most Helpful User beat me to it.

cheers guys! I just found my tube of tigerseal has all gone hard which is a pain!

good idea of painting the backs of the clips... may try both ways though, see if i can slice open the tube of tigerseal and see if its still soft inside and then glue the clips to the car in the right places and then drill through the centre and dab the rivet in the tigerseal and pop through the hole and should then hold on pretty securely andhopefully wont let in any leaks and should also be able to remove them when I need to aswell.

will have a nosey at the topbuzz site, also just noticed i have a flat tyre... i guess thats what that pop noise was yesterday so stick on the spare and then over to vauxhall to get some clips! :)

haha! I'll have some chocolate too! :)

the topbuzz guide is pretty good but seems a little more complicated then what I was planning on doing so I'll give it a go my way first i think!

When i did mine i used doublesided sticky tape on the clips then put them on the skirt pushed against the car. Then slid the skirts off the clips. Then drilled into my sills where the clips were few pop rivits later and hey presto DONE. I also pop rivited then underneth to the car.

great idea boyo! think I may try it that way... what size pop rivets did you use to hold the clips onto the side of the car with? will be putting them on underneath with self tappers as will need to remove them when am respraying the car... couldn't really care about painting the clips... doesn't matter but will have to paint behind the skirts and the things will be a different colour from the car so will need to be easilly removable (and probably easilly nickable too! lol)
