HELLO EVERBODY OK HEAR I GO (WISH ME LUCK I NOT VERY GOOD AT THIS )
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p250/xr2000CC/1.jpg
this is how it looked after i picked it up did all the welding and got her motd .
first i stripped the car and fitted new shocks springs polly bushes all round .
then went on the xr2i front hubs with black diamond vented disc's and fast road pads along with b.f.goodridge braided hoses and all new rears (they should be good enough)
afterwords a phone call to ashley comp exhausts where i set up my own trade account ant ordered full system inc manifold.
that was where it was all gonna stop but as always we stride to do better and i thought why not lets give it a go
1)start with a 2.0 liter zetec as its got 136 bhp standard !
2)found that there are lots of reasons why not many people use this engine (its all bloody wrong !!!!!!!!!) so much to change but its still a 2.0 liter!
3) strip engine bay down (easy)
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p250/xr2000CC/3.jpg
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p250/xr2000CC/2.jpg
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p250/xr2000CC/6.jpg
http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p250/xr2000CC/7.jpg
that all took about 2 hours cool i thought (not so easy)
4)i decided to use a 1.0l mk3 fiesta g/box as the box i found had only covered 11k (it was like new) i took the box to my local g/box center where they fitted a xr2 diff (thought it might help)
5)(more problems) in the end i used a xr2i j reg flywheel that was skimmed till it was wafer thin and a black diamond series 1 rst clutch
6)all bolted together sweet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7)fit it easy (2hours with 2 teas and some bad words used) its in !!! yippee
8)o no room for injection manifold so i will use a carb !!!! i used the xr2 38dgs carb and over jetted it . it had to be mounted on a custom base plate ( to use cvh manifold )
9)exhaust easy weld on new base flange from ashley comp exhausts job done
10) electrics (what a pain) right i used a wasted spark system from a early cvh carb model 3 wires and she fires up wicked my girl is alive again .
11) all oils and waters fitted road test time .
12) o my god !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need not say any more
13) some more pictures ! car not yet finished but not long till scoop and paint to be done soon

The old blue oval isn't that bad really, I love my Mk2 fiesta. It's only a 1.0 but I'm pretty sure it's indestructable. Sorted the tappets out when I first bought it for ?50 2 years ago and nothing has gone wrong since. Oh, except for when it broke down on the motorway but that was because I hadn't spotted it had in-line fuel filter which looked like it hadn't been changed in 10 years lol

looking good, although alot of minimal changes would of made way for alot easier fit and less hassle..........

Thats just a few i easily came across on the following link from a forum i have used for years now. good bunch of chaps with a good knowledge base for all things fiesta .......

http://xrtwo.speedcentral.co.uk/

This conversion is quite common place now with many variants be it using the good old carb like yourself or using the 1.8 inlets etc on the 2.0 zetec lump. Then it continues to the turbo'd variants and throttle bodied versions. Take that as a warning everyone else as the game is more equal now when it comes to big block conversions

Fair play & keep up the good work:thumb:
The ammount of times that my Nova was mistaken for a Fiesta on Tubrosport was shocking lol
I've seen a fair few nice, fast Fiesta's now. A friend of mine has a RWD cossie powered one and there is also a black one that was at Combe last year that went very well as well. The thing sounded like it was jet powered.

Drove a MK1 xr2 with a bored out 1750 lump and kent cam, lightened and balanced, stage two head. fantastic fun........for a ford!

really would have liked a mint series 1 RS escort.

Keep up the good work.

was the black one wide arched?? completly stripped etc? if so its my mate slims and is running 4x4 cossie lump and runninggear, its a complete beast and scares me silly! people just assume its turbo conversion with silly 80/90s arches. lol

Where does this bloke live mate, theres a black wide arch Fez that I see burbling about in Bognor.

As for the 2.0 conversion, I reckon you'll have a right laugh in that, good power to weight, good balance in the Fez chassis and a fairly good soundtrack (although no match for an XE lol:thumb:) A 'driveway' conversion one was made by a mate around here, the engine and box were both dogs and it still flew!

fair play to you fella, putting aside the car make (ref site) its good to see people aint afraid to get there hands dirty and do something different from the run of the mill.

not keen on the bennet bulge as it now makes the car not look like a sleeper. well easier to judge now seeing the alternatives.

but never the less, top work and hope you enjoy the car. thats the best bit.
