It is kind of,Lol.
It doesn't have as much emissions stuff on as the alter X16xe.
So its not a "proper" eco tec.

not a worries bud sorry about the text. so would it be the next best thing to my nova gsi 16 8v engine as am looking for 16v not 8v

Its only about 8bhp more powerful than the 8v nova gsi engine.

but has potentially 240bhp.... whereas the 1.6 8v seems capped at about 150-160bhp...

ok then i wanna keep my nova a 1.6 with r1 carbs and omex brain so would you do it to a 8v or 16v

16 v otherwise its a bit of an extravagent waste on the 8v imho

I managed to run a 1400 engine after it spat a conrod out the front and the back. Do i get a medal as well lol

1.6 16v are the new to do thing at the moment, 2ltXe are done all the time, 2XE will give you more power out the box as standred, a stanrd 1.6 will be slow due to the crapy indushion VXsystem. with a good set of TB on a 1.6 it will have more power than a standerd2XE and better power to weight. they should fit in a nove easyer with less if no modding to shell other than sime welding.
