1.2 Spark Plugs

What size spark plug socket do I need for removing 1.2 spark plugs.

I stopped at my local auto paki and picked up some spark plugs.. which he said are gapped for 0.7mm (incidently haynes says they should be 0.8mm)

Had a dig around in my tool box in the dark last night for my spark plug socket that I know I bought when I had my first 1.2

This doesnt fit the spark plugs from the Auto Paki.

Question is have I got the wrong spark plugs... or have I got 2 spark plug sockets? I'm too lazy to pop the bonnet and check the ones fitted as I'm at work.

when I changed the spark plugs on my corsa the old ones were a different size then the new ones although both were correct for the engine so is hard to say what size socket you need.

just get a fat one and thin one. covers all plugs then ;)

iirc the 1.2 i had took fat plugs.

The quoted haynes gap size is for Champion plugs.

Different manufacturers have different gaps...

Dont know what size they are, i just a socket that says "Spark Socket" on it, it seems to fit all,Lol.

they usially use Bosch plugs in the haynes manuals ;)
