Try BTB exhausts, they aint cheap mind! I think their 4-1 system looks better than the std Ashley job.

Mongoose stainless system for me... settled with a sportex mild steel manifold as stainless manifolds are bucks!

I would avoid Powerflow like the plague.

Ive got a BTB 4 branch. I'm not sure they do any manifolds for the 8vs?

I beleive the 1600 8v manifolds can be matched to the heads with some work & work well. Then you have the option of the Hockley GrpA down pipe.

See Rallymans WIP on MIGweb. If its good enough for him....

btw Matt2107. Your comments about Powerflow are semi valid. True most of them are poor but its down to each outlet & the fabricator. Ive had mine since 2000 & isnt rusting & is fantastic in terms of bends etc.
Got mine from the UK headoffice in Exeter.

I've got a semi?

Probably should have mentioned that. lol
My experience has especially been with R-Tech in St Albans.

Poor welding and fabrication.

I wouldve assumed so really. Talk about a bunch of posers!

The name POWERFLOW itself is fairly strong but has suffered of late by some outlets producing terrible stuff. Only the other week a chap found the bend over his rear axle (celica GT4) was simply folded flat to clear. Shocking!

Thats where the backbox you bought off me came from.
Previous owner of my SR went to them to have it made and fitted.

I thought the box was OK, but the welding of the Scorpion tailpipe was suspect. I assumed it was added on.

Thats probably the only bit they had to do assuming the rear boxes are factory made. LOL

Was definately added on.

The pipe contecting to the the mid setion looked like a scaffolding pole. lol

I had a heatwrapped Mantzel 4-2-1 on my E16SE, it seemed to improve torque a fair bit in the mid range and gave the exhaust note a meatier sound.

Heat wrapping is a very good idea since most people have an open induction kit, which sits about 1 foot from a very hot manifold!
