This is a serious post.
What is the biggest journey you have made in a nova?

I once went to the Belgian Grandprix via my mates house in Dusseldorf, from Hinckley, Leics.
About 1000miles ish

Nurburgring a few times, its about a 1000mile round trip. Wouldn't be so bad if I had a heater/stereo/carpets/quiet engine/comfortable seats/windows that closed properly and didn't contantly rattle and leak :(
Worst journey was newquay and back (520miles) whilst I was running it in, freezing cold, no stereo, on my own and a max speed of 56mph with 3000rpm it was fookin mind numbing  Would overtake lorries up hill and they'd come bk past on the downhills :(

i did 1000 miles in a week, but didnt go further than 80 miles from my house lol newquay was about 120ish miles i think london, birmingham, not a problem, in fact i've never had a problem with the car, reliability wise just my own stupidness, eg. running out of petrol (x10ish lol) and not doing wheel bolts up. never used any oil or water between services, and i taking that engine out for one im building, doh!

I hope to do a le Mans trip soon, the last time I went was 1995, it was my honeymoon, followed by a tour of brittany, 1500 miles in a b reg maestro 1.6 HL in a fortnight. Got drunk & got to watch the Mclaren F1GTR slaughter the 'Real Racing Cars'.

Did about 2000 miles in one week, in my hatch when I first went to Cornwall. Was a bit worried as I'd only just fitted the Spax adjustables a few days before, but it didn't miss a beat aside from the central locking going tits up for 5 minutes on the Lizard. Played musical fuses and all started working lol

Year later, I thought "I know, I'll take the saloon instead as it will probably be more reliable than the hatch". Got as far as Exeter (from Trowbridge) and one of the hoses decided to give up, water all over the services  Although RAC man taped it up, and after stopping to fill up with water once more at around Okehampton area, it was fine all week!

Last year I took the Celica with no problems, but this year if the Nova is running before September (thats pushing it lmfao) I'll probably take that... hmmm!

Probably Billing or santa POD. thats about 400 miles round trip. Some of my mates are doing Le Mans & the ring later in the summer, so the Nova may make it touch wood. I wouldve got it to Belgium for the Treffen a few years back, but the body shop took too long & took the parents camper van.

Santa pod was 160 miles each way, billing about 150 each way, the trip to sheffield via scunny, goole and leeds was a bit too much for the old lump, especially when we were giving it some stick on the back roads.

Done Hull to norwich and back a few times, and a few two hour trips to banbury (about 20 in 3 months) back in 2002 in the saloon.

Once did Hull to Bristol to Croydon and back to Hull in a day in the astra, only had to pull over on the last leg because I was knackered, the merit never missed a beat.

I used an old 1.4L hatch for a company car for a year did 65k in a year with out any engine faults :D Plus I had ?300 a month for car allowance lol Car cost ?250 had 2 sets of disks and pads oil change every 12k plugs I only did every 20k, 2 sets of tyres, passed every mot with little work. Was the cheapest years motoring I have ever had, that?s very little money per miles. Engine had done nearly 200k when it was scrapped and still going strong but body was rotten. I was also amazed at what you can carry in a nova with the rear seats down, I took a rack mounted hp server, and drives from chelmsford to Cardiff in it :thumb:
