Has anyone ever welded up a sunroof?

if so has anyone got any tip/ideas?

not yet but i am thinking about it
are you fitting a metal sheet in the black surround an welding it shut
or removeing the surround an riveting a plate in an welding it up from the inside

LOL, skin the roof. Much much easier and lighter then welding (& warpping), filling, and filling again ! Oh and filling again.

im going to do mine next month when i start the project. ive got a tool i call a joggler (dont no if thats its proper name) it puts a step into the edge of metal to add strength, im going to do that all the way round the piece im putting in so it not just a floppy piece of steel then when it comes to welding i will do an inch-an inch and a half on one side then cool it with compressed air then move to the opposite side and do the same to keep distortion to a minimum, keep doing that until it is fully welded.
