oil sender unit?

I fitted some early spec SR dials with 6 dials,as oppossed to 4 n 2 LEDs, but the oil pressure gauge just goes right off the scale,as I did not wire it to anything,I had attached a length of wire to it though,and I think I have an oil sender unit now,a cylindery sorta thing,problem is I think I need a T-piece or adaptor type thing to fit it?-is this right?-also,for the boot light in novas,do you wire up that spare power cable that is taped up in with the wiring,and just earth the other terminal of the bulb for the boot?

one wire on the sender is for the light one is for the gauge..

yup boot light goes onto the red wire with the spade on the end
