On a mk5? a degree in auto electrics would be helpfull! the new vaux's use most of the wires for 2 or 3 different things at the same time, called multiplex wiring. Getting it bolted in would be easy, sorting the wires out could take months.

I would not even advise attempting it.

so really that hard to wire in? would changing loom be easy? or would it all have to be ripped out?

You'd have to totally re-wire the car from scratch, using the let engine loom as a starting point. I wouldn't fancy playing around with the airbag wiring.

Youd have to be a seriously competent electrician

Even changing a set of speedo clocks for items that arent coded to the car means that it will not start/run.

Totally crazy - PRO JOB!! lol

Bring back carb's and none of this electric pants!!

Hmm its still a bit of a ballache.

More 'do-able' than the MK5 id say though.

I know the Corsa C uses multiplex and there the same age....

Pass on that one - over to Mr Technovauxgeek i think.....

An XE into a mk4 is possible, not straight forward tho.

Rich did it on Mig, can't remember his username, C20let mini or something along those lines.
