if you fit the single v bottom pully will you still need to modify the chassis leg?

yes as its not the bottom pulley that needs the chasis leg modifying, its the alternator thats the problem. The cut out is for the alternator not the pulley.

i was told the bottom pully also fowled the chassis leg if you used later engines that had a double pulley to drive power steering. i know about the altanater,

yes it does but thats why you have to machine the outer pulley off so its a single belt one. It has to be a single belt pulley an do a cut out in the chasis leg for the alternator, or hit it with a hammer. Depends how pikie you are.

make sure your bottom pulley is balanced or you can create problems with the belt etc

there you go mate the proper way to do it, basically you cut out the chassis leg around 3/4" from the suspension turret and then like ive done.

I cut out a slot for the bottom pulley to while I was at it so there's just that little bit more room and its easier to get the belt off.
