starter motor

will any starter motor fit any nova?

I just sold one on ebay which come of a 1.2 and then went on a 1.6gsi and the lady i sold it to claims it doesnt fit! Which a garage told her? :confused:

i really dont know but if you put starter motor from a 1.2 she has no leg to stand on!

yeah thats what i said, and to be ohnest it wouldnt suprise me if the garage are just saying that so she buys one from them etc....

i think the earth connection is different i took my starter motor off my 1.2 and tried puttin one from a 1.6 on and the postive wire went on fine but the connection for the earth on the solnoid was different.

I would of thought they would be a lilttle dif??

the connections to the blocks are the smae but just the earth differnt i think
