Hi Everyone
I have just purchased a 1.4i Nova Luxe Plus on a J plate
I want to give the 1.4i a bit of a tune.
Could anyone recommend some good mods i can do to the 1.4 engine to improve performance?
Also has anyone got any ideas on the standard BHP for a 1.4i OHC engine?
Cheers

yours will have a massive 60 brake, as it's the c14nz, or more commonly known as the "Hi-Torque" engine. LLTN knows a bit about tuning single-point motors, I'd just bin the whole top-end and injection system in favour of a carb set-up, personally.
Sometime next week after i've fitted some new bits to mine, i'd guess it to be at about 90-95bhp(compared to 60bhp std)
Which is not bad going, still on SPi with the std 1400 injector.
Its cost me quite a bit and i'd probably not do it again,Lol.

is there anything I can do which is quite cheap that will achieve a nice engine noise?
I did not really want to go down the route of an engine conversion, I am trying to do a 'cheapish' project car.
Someone has told me to get a 1.4 sr head and ecu and some twin 40 carbs and a high lift cam, would this work?
Any ideas on where i can get these from/prices?
Cheers guys
(as you have probably gathered engines arn't my strong point!)
hmm why would you need an ecu if your going for carbs?? and an sri head would work better and go for a 1.4sr cam if you want a cheap improvement

my 1.2 has 65bhp na na
What did you do to get that out of the 1.2 ??
He fitted a weber 32/34 carb and 1.3 inlet iirc.
A 1.4sr cam will make the 1.4i sound better, and is cheap to do if you DIY.

Thanks very much for your replies all.
Thanks LLTN, I will look into this.
I am trying to persuade my uncle to help me with a 2.0ltr engine conversion if i can get an engine lol. So we will see what happens.
Thanks again for all your help.
