What is this country coming too? Soon there will be a new speed limit enforced in portsmouth, wait for it..... 20Mph! It will proberly work its way up the country soon enough!

I think its so if you hit someone then they wont notice?!?

can you even try and hit someone at that speed?
but then if you look on the over hand it stops chavs racing down the street well thats what they think anyway lol

Exactly, it won't... they don't stick to a 30 limit so why bother sticking to a 20 limit! And will probably cause more accidents as people are too busy watching their speedos rather than the road

Although you think thats bad, I have to go round by the hangars on the airstation side of the base to get to some of our servers, right through and aircraft taxi zone... speed limit is supposed to be 5mph. My car doesn't even have 5mph on the speedo lol

i dont that people really think about these things before actaully trying it them selves,, just like today i was crossin a zebra crossing and a woman nearly run me down as she was consentrating on the phone and was speeding. its just stupid people should really think before doing things.

The guy who used to do road design was on Top Gear a while ago (I say "used to" as it was a few years back now, so he's probably moved on). IIRC he doesn't even drive himself...

the one that went around the track? he has 9 points the cocklol

20mph is just stupid
life is full of risks and trying to cut them down by having to drive in 2nd gear every where is dumb.

also having to go that speed for a long time means fuel wasted as your be in a lower gear.

but its only in places,
its not the whole city..so why worry... just dont drive the roads that might get set you 20mph

yeah thats true, but apparently its going to apply to the majority. And its not easy to remember rulles like that all the time, so its going to be easyer to rack up the points...

I've never worked out why there are so many speed cameras in Bristol, they're all useless as the traffic is pretty much self regulating at 20 MPH and the limit is 30.

A limit change would make no difference round here unless someone built a transport system that worked.

There is a 20 zone in bognor and even the police dont stick to 20! I did see one old lady in a micra driving in the 20 zone, at 20, then she must have accelerated harder than she anticipated as it sounded a bit out of character! I was thinking, driving at 30 in 4th, car doesnt accelerate that well. Driving at 20 you'll most likely be in 2nd or 3rd where the car can accelerate quite hard (even if it a 1.2 or something). If someone walks out in front of an elderly person who is watching the speedo, they run the greater risk of being accelerated into in a 20 as the old person struggles to find the brake.
