So... what do we think? bear in mind you can't judge it on looks alone, you NEED to watch the video of Steve Jobs giving the demo.
I personally, WILL be buying one ... though not on launch day lol wait a few months to see what bugs pop up.

How old are you? lollol That's the type of thing my grandma would say.
iPhone looks pretty trick, was inevitable that they would bring something like that out. Will probably be a big seller, although I highly doubt I'll buy one. :)

i anticipate prices of circa ?1000 without a contract lol
Currently in debate with a couple of peeps who are slating it for being totally unoriginal and pointless.
There's nothing entirely original about it is there? From what I've read on the site it's an mp3-playing mobile phone with Internet...
However they'll make it look amazing, probably work elegantly and no doubt have an expensive advertising scheme on television.

it runs Apple OS X, just like the computers do, so operation looks uber slick. thats why i said to watch the video :D
The touch screen is totally new, they've patented it... you REALLY need to see it in action. The thing is very clever... compared to phones that do that sort of thing, its miles ahead as far as i'm concerned.
Just watched a video of it in action, I can't lie it looks brilliant lol:cry:

Yea should be sweet running OSX, I would only get one if it was free as an upgrade, so it will be a few years yet! lol
Just heard on the news that theres some conflict with another company though as they have already registered the name i=phone and are suing apple for using it!!

you see ... i don't lie.
lol
Its an Apple, so its therefore "cool" by proxy. And has the "i" moniker, so is therefore uber-cool and everyone will want one.
I still want an 80's "mobile" phone, massive thing with a battery you need to carry in a satchel on your back. I reckon i could put an Apple logo on the back, paint it white, and call it an an "iMobile Telecommunications Device". Then sell on ebay for ?4,000.

Cisco. They got the rights to "iPhone" in 1996 when the acquired another company. Apple negotiated with them for it but never reached a deal prior to the launch of it at the Macworld Expo.
Cisco have good grounds here, but Apple are notoriously good at getting out of trouble like this. Also, for several years Apple have had rights over products being launched with "i" on the begining ... depending on the dates involved with the various copyrights and patents it could go either way.
Anyway, it'll take years lol and get settled out of court - and the "Apple iPhone" will be here to stay, even if they have to licence the name from Cisco.
PS. It IS cool. Fact. If it were a Sagem doing that it'd be cool, just not as expensive lol

Who cares about the people in the factory? they want a job, the economy of their country is such that thats the sort of job they get, and thats how much they get paid. Where the product is sold the economies are stronger, and that dictates consumer spending, which in turn dictates market value.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, i don't actually like it!
Fair enough, it probably is cool and all that, but it's not to my taste!

No, took one look at it and made my mind up about it!
I'm not that keen on these phones that do a million things, i have a D600, i'm happy with that lol
Although i wouldn't mind one of those PDA thingys lol
But each to their own, and i'm impressed none the less, but just not for me!
I personally await the Apple iToilet

How can you possibly say you dont like phones that do a million things, but that you want one of those PDA thingys, thats a TOTAL contradiction lol
Also - you cant be impressed by the pictures, it looks plain and uninspired. Watch the video - skip to about 20 minutes in when they're showing it off though, dont watch Steve Jobs whipping up the Mac-Lovers in the crowd at the start.

well said that man on mig ^
OS X is a p*ss poor version of a proper operating system. On a mac or otherwise. Plus I like to have seperate devices as when one breaks it means I can still do other things. Hence why I avoid Multi function machines like printer/scanner/copier/fax or a midi system

Bring back the 7210 (but with an internal ariel and battery).
If you have to watch a Steve Jobs vid to think its good, then its crap. Steve is very good at making you believe apple stuff is good though.
