like anything! it depends on the condition of the car! a nova is a nova!

Take it there arent many on here then?

Im gonna be looking into getting one for myself and the girlfriend soon, hopefully by summer, dont mind if it needs some slight tidying up, interior isnt an issue really, itll all be stripped (minus dash) anyway, and as long as it is mechanically sound and rot free (slight bubbles of rust are acceptable) then itll do for us.

But basically you are saying cheap, with value depending on condition (obviously)

Oh, and, are all the TD's in the MK2 shape?

As said, depends on condition. I wouldn't expect them to sell for as much as a GSi though, and probably be between 1.2 and SR desirability to most people.

Most were Mk2's but they did do a Mk1 Merit TD. 1989 so G? reg.

yeah true, but how many people would pay over the odds and snap at the chance to pik up a Minter Td, purley for the shell etc?? But yeah, with the GSI lump sitting in it already - it would help bump the price up!

Dunno, I'd say the Derv thing is a lot like the saloon thing though - some people wouldn't look twice at them, yet others will pay a premium if in good condition.

All in the matter of taste, thats what the expresoion "Its worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it".

Cheers for some info lads (and any ladies, just in case. lol )

If/when i get one, itll be staying a TD, its the best option for myself and the GF as far as running costs go, plus with the lumps being fairly tuneable too, i could engage in some minor fettling... :thumb:

Plus as long as it can get around Castle Combe pretty sharpish, for a diesel, i dont really mind...

A TD would be totally justified at a track day IMO. Ive seen some nasty small engined 106's, Fiestas & Cinquecento's going round at 'Combe'.

Ive had my TD 3 months & I'm still finding it a right hoot tbh. its not as economical as I expected but it is quicker than I thought. Its going to be serviced shortly so that may help.

I think they might become worth more as there seems to be quite a lot of interest in them recently. The engines are fantastic really.

I serviced my cav td last night Craig and its miles better to drive and on the juice.

And the reason ur economy is crap is cos u thrash it everywhere lol

my nova td gets about 60mpg and it still goes well, as said you can still give other cars a good run, i was coming back from southend last sat night, and i got 129 out of it, i know thats not fast, but for a td it is and i bet there is alot of SR's that cant do that.

i have a bmw 325i sport and i have saved so much money driving this its unreal its paid for the car 10 times over.

Just been reading a handy little tuning guide for the 1.5TD, very simple DIY mods there, that will make it run pretty nicely!

Makes me want one more! :D

i could of bought 1 a few years back there.................and like a silly boy i didnt at the time

the thing is they are very hard to get here in northern ireland...........well arround my area anyway

i only know of 2.........and theyre completely stardard granda mobiles

i think theyd be a great run arround as far as fule costs and all goes.......and theyre surprisingly quick...the same as the corsa's

.

So lift your right foot and then it will perform as expected on both fronts ;)

Having been out in a td with a good friend a few years ago, I can say that I would have one. I did look for one when I bought my diesel commuter a few years back, but at the time, I couldn't find one sensibly priced or in good condition.

Easier said than done! After a 1.2 Spi, the TD feels as good as my old 1.6turbo. So I'm lapping up performance motoring again. lol

YES! :thumb: I let her get fully warm on the temp gauge & another 5 mins & then let her boost.
When I get a spare 20 minutes Ive got a nice 5 series BMW front mount IC for it.
